### Job overview

We are seeking an experienced registered professional to join the QE Liaison Psychiatry Team as Band 7 Team Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-quality, recovery-focused mental health care for people presenting to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

You will bring:

- Significant post-registration experience, ideally within Liaison Psychiatry.
- Strong knowledge of adult mental health, legislation, clinical governance and risk management.
- Proven leadership, supervision and performance management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage change and work under pressure.

You will be passionate about supporting staff, improving services and delivering excellent care.

### Main duties of the job

- Provide day-to-day operational leadership and line management for the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ensure safe, effective and efficient service delivery in line with Trust policies, legislation and acute hospital requirements.
- Support staff through supervision, appraisal, performance management, wellbeing and development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice and high-quality care.
- Build strong relationships with the acute hospital, Trust services and wider system partners.
- Monitor performance against KPIs, using data and feedback to identify improvements and agree action plans.
- Manage risks and ensure services meet the needs of service users and carers.

## Person Specification

### Essential and Desirable

**Essential**

- Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Degree-level qualification
- Experience of staff supervision, appraisal, performance management and workforce development
- Significant post-registration experience within mental health services, including liaison psychiatry, acute hospital mental health services, crisis services or related settings
- Ability to manage resources, staffing, budgets and service performance effectively

**Desirable**

- Previous experience managing a Liaison Psychiatry service
- Postgraduate qualification in leadership, management or a relevant clinical specialty
- Knowledge of national liaison psychiatry standards and relevant NHS policy drivers
- Experience of recruitment, retention and workforce planning
