We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Specialist Wound Care Podiatrist to join our Hampstead team. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based wound care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

You will assess and manage complex foot wounds, including those related to diabetes, vascular disease, and infection. Working closely with vascular, diabetes, and infectious diseases teams, you will support integrated care and improved outcomes.

The role includes contributing to clinical practice development, mentoring junior staff and students, and participating in service development, audit, and quality improvement.

### Main duties of the job

To work as a member of an acute foot multidisciplinary team based at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. To provide a highly specialised wound care assessment within the outpatients, inpatients, and emergency care settings. Patients will include those with long term conditions, such as diabetes and renal disease. Patients may also be very complex with multiple co-morbidities.  To formulate a clinical diagnosis and treatment plan as an autonomous practitioner.  To use clinical judgement and discretion in the advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex pathologies, which puts them at increased risk of amputation, morbidity and mortality.  To provide advanced wound care techniques in their practice, including casting, negative pressure wound therapy and larval therapy.  To work towards achieving competencies in advanced, specialised care, such as independent prescribing.  To mentor students, and supervise, teach and appraise junior podiatrists.  To share the responsibility for operational management of the podiatry department, participate in service development, and participate in evidence-based projects.

- - Experience of working at a band 6 level or above in an acute hospital setting with a high risk caseload
- - Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- - Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease/pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot and neurovascular tests
- - Experience of acute and chronic at risk wound care management
- - Awareness/experience of setting & maintaining clinical standards and clinical audit
- - Evidence of contribution to change within the workplace
- - Understanding of role of podiatry within current evolving health environment
- - Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/ clinical education
- - Actively involved in teaching to the multidisciplinary team

- - Core skills in Podiatry, knowledge of acute foot conditions and wound management
- - Ability to undertake intricate work in using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments. e.g in the management and debridement of poor tissue viability wounds and nail surgery

- - Knowledge and understanding of the NICE Diabetes guidelines and NSF in diabetes
