This is an exciting opportunity to be connected to the wider team of health care professionals that includes motivated clinicians from the professional disciplines of psychiatry, clinical psychology, community psychiatric nursing, primary mental health specialists and family therapists. This team has a clear line of operational management and a professional lead structure and places a strong emphasis on continuing professional development and clinical supervision for all team members. The aim of the service is to provide a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach informed by the CYP IAPT programme. We are currently implementing then I thrive programme in partnership with our wider stakeholders and this presents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to support this process alongside their clinical work. ### Main duties of the job The role is to be part of a specialist team of clinicians working with the under-five age range and their families. Offering a relational approach to social and emotional problems that emerge in this age group.  Parents benefit from our support where there are difficulties around activities such as sleeping, feeding and toileting or where parents and their child are finding it difficult to bond or connect with each other. Parent and child sessions.  A chance to explore parent’s relationship with their baby/child and to help them understand their own and their babies behaviour. Child Lead play By observing the child play and following their lead we can help parents gain a deeper understanding of their child's feelings and thoughts and why they may be having difficulties. Sessions with the parents on their own. A chance to reflect on the impact of the parent's  own experiences -past and present - with the use of a calm space to find a way forward for them and their child. We work closely with parents who may be experiencing any of the following issues, which may in turn be affecting the relationship with have with their child We are looking for individuals who have appropriate professional qualifications and experience or working with families and young children/infants eg family therapy, child psychology, social work, health visiting, relevant infant mental health training ( eg M9 Tavistock ) would be desirable. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities To promote the mental health of preschool children in the area through the provision of a clinical and consultation service for under 4 year olds referred to the CAMHS team. This will include direct work and building capacity at Tier 1 through training and consultation/supervision.
