### Job overview

We are recruiting to a full-time band 7 Interventional Radiology Lead Radiographer.  The successful post holder will work collaboratively with our interventional quadrumvirate; Fluoroscopy Lead Radiographer, Lead Consultant Radiologist and Divisional Matron. The working pattern will be a base level of Monday to Friday, will opportunities for evening and weekend work.  Core hours would be based around a 0830-1700 or 0930-1800 pattern, depending on the successful candidate.

### Main duties of the job

The duties and responsibilities of the post holder is to be an effective member of the Radiography team, providing a high standard of radiographic service to Radiologists and patients. They will be responsible for the needs of all patients attending the service. To provide management and leadership for the delivery of a high quality Radiology service at WGH The post holder will be an experienced and skilled Radiographer who will use their clinical knowledge and experience to inform the optimal delivery of the service. The post holder will be dynamic, innovative, forward thinking, and will contribute to service development. They will have responsibility to supervise junior staff and students including those radiographers during their training and newly qualified radiographers during their preceptorship period. They will have experience, competence and confidence in a wide range or fluoroscopy and interventional cases, including (but not limited to) independently managing the HSG and barium swallow pathways.

It is essential the post holder holds competencies and confidence in interventional procedures, with scope for HSGs and Ba Swallows.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Good knowledge of adaptive techniques
- Aware of current trends relevant to the profession.
- Health & Safety Clinical Governance.
- Knowledge of interventional cases and procedures.
- IRMER and IRR awareness.

**Desirable**

- Public sector / NHS knowledge.
- Emergency processes and resus protocols in the acute hospital setting.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience across a range of modalities.
- Subject matter expert in Fluoroscopy and interventional radiology.
- Documented NHS competence for HSG examinations and Ba Swallows

**Desirable**

- Cross sectional imaging experience.
- Documented NHS competence for HSG examinations and Ba Swallows

### Education and qualifications

**Essential**

- DCR(R) or BSc Radiography.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
- Evidence of post graduate study
