This post will be based at Heartlands Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, however, cross site work and visiting patients at home may be required on occasion. ### Main duties of the job We are looking for experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses who have proven experience in the speciality of diabetes. You will have a major role in delivering excellent diabetes care both to inpatients and outpatients. You will be expected to work autonomously, develop and lead on a specialism within diabetes and be an independent prescriber. You will act as a specialist resource and provide specialist advice in relation to care of people with diabetes and provide a range of educational and training programmes for the multidisciplinary team, patients, families and carers. Support will be given to the post holders to develop their skills, experience and competence in all spheres of diabetes nursing.
