The post will incorporate the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role dimensions of specialist clinical practice, education, leadership, management and research. ### Main duties of the job The postholder will: - Provide support & direction to nurses delivering chemotherapy across the Trust. - In collaboration with the wider senior SACT team within the Trust identify and interpret (at local level) the priorities for delivery of SACT, - Deliver nurse led SACT clinics for patients with cancer and prescribe within scope, and be responsible for excellent standards of nursing care to patients through the planning, co-ordinating, delivery and evaluation of nurse-led clinics and services. - Support the development and delivery of any new pre-SACT education to patients. - Liaise with all key members of the multidisciplinary team to advise and support colleagues in the delivery of specialised patient care across professional boundaries. - Contribute to the facilitation of the planning, delivery and evaluation of care pathways for a designated groups of patients receiving SACT - Contribute to training and education within specialist area - Act as a visible role model and specialist practitioner.
