You will be part of a team caring for critically unwell patients across critical care units based at QH. Our critical care units consist of a total of 57 beds across two sites - Queens and King Georges and occasionally you will be required to work across site depending on service demands.  The Neuro ITU at Queens is a 12 bedded unit providing care for patient following neuro surgical interventions, trauma and  to emergency admissions from both the wards and a busy emergency department presenting with a range of conditions requiring level 2 and level 3 care. We are looking for enthusiastic experienced critical care nurses with a passion for delivering high quality care in partnership with patients and their relatives, who can demonstrate an ability to lead others to work within these standards in a permanent role. You will be required to provide training and support to new staff members, guiding individuals that require performance related assistance. You must be able to act as a role model providing teaching and leadership support to the nursing team in the clinical area and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to demonstrate high standards of individualised and evidenced based patient centered care and be responsible for supporting changes based upon local and national guidelines. ### Main duties of the job Ensure effective lines of communication are maintained across the multidisciplinary team and throughout the Trust. Promote positive and collaborative working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Contribute to the development and review of ITU/HDU protocols and guidelines. Actively participate in preceptorship and clinical supervision programmes. Provide mentorship and support to both pre-registration and post-registration staff.
