### Job overview

The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides Multi-disciplinary specialised care throughout the West Midlands, to treat mothers with mental health problems, both during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum. There is also community outreach team as well as 10 inpatient bedded Unit at the Barberry. The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will see perinatal services expanding its remit to seeing approx. 10% of the birth rate, seeing women for up to 2 years postnatally.

Solihull Perinatal Team provide specialist perinatal service for women living in the Solihull Borough or with a Solihull GP, who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period.

We are seeking an additional mental health practitioner from a nursing or social work background to join this new service to contribute their clinical skills and care coordinate a specialist caseload.

### Main duties of the job

Applicants will need to have a genuine interest in working with women and families in the perinatal period, have excellent communication and multi-agency liaison skills and a have good knowledge of safeguarding. Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable but not essential.
