## Job Description

### Knowledge:

**Essential**

- Dispensing.
- Law and Ethics.
- Pharmaceutical Practice.
- Hospital Pharmacy Practice.
- Good clinical knowledge.
- Medicines Optimisation processes.
- Patient Counselling.
- NHS Organisational Structure.
- Laws and principles related to Information Security and Confidential.

**Desirable**

- Excel Spreadsheets – minimum intermediate level.

### Experience:

**Essential**

- Appropriate post qualification hospital experience.
- Ability to work within clearly defined occupational polices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Proven ability to manage own workload and the workload of others, delegating supervision activities as appropriate.
- Knowledge and experience of recording data, including sensitive information, on pharmacy computerised data record systems.
- Experience in organising daily activities of staff within a team.
- Experience of working with a wide range of other health care professionals.
- Experience of providing training.

**Desirable**

- Training staff.
- Audit participation.
- Experience in developing and implementing SOPs.
- Experience of conducting and reporting project & audit work.

### Education and qualifications:

**Essential**

- BTEC certificate in applied sciences/NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
- Accredited technician checking qualification.
- Accreditation in Medicines Management (or equivalent).
- Completion of a recognised leadership/management course and/or relevant experience in managing staff and resources.
- Registered with GPhC as a technician.

**Desirable**

- Leadership /Management Course.
- Practice supervisor / Education supervisor.
