This role involves working at either Good Hope or Heartlands Hospital sites as a Clinical Support Pharmacist participating in 13-week rotations across specialties including General medicine, Cardiology, T&O, Healthcare of Older People and our extended clinical service in Acute Medicine, supported and mentored by a rotation lead and line manager.

You will have the opportunity to undertake either a clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway and subsequently a non-medical prescribing qualification if not already obtained.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- *Experience working within an NHS/ Healthcare environment with clinicians and other health care professionals at all levels of the organisation.
- *Post-registration work experience as a pharmacist in hospital pharmacy, or the ability to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge.
- *Evidence of risk management and service improvements.
- *Demonstrates commitment for providing high quality pharmaceutical care.
- *Possesses relevant clinical knowledge in hospital pharmacy.
- *Knowledge of national initiatives and guidelines, e.g. NICE, NSF.
- *Possesses knowledge of available resources to answer Medicines Information queries.
- *Demonstrates good knowledge of hospital clinical pharmacy and current issues.

**Desirable**

- *Demonstrates good knowledge of hospital pharmacy and current issues

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- *4 year vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
- *Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- *Has commenced or is willing to commence a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification
- *Evidence of continued Professional Development in Pharmacy related matters

**Desirable**

- *Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- *Member of UKCPA
- *In-house training and accreditation for formulation of PN and final check of aseptic products
- To be willing to work towards a non-medical prescribing qualification
