### Job overview

The Clinical Research Practitioner ('CRP') is a key member of the Trust's Research and Development Team.  The principal purpose of the role is to work with clinical teams across the Midlands to assist in identifying and recruiting participants in research studies, including service users, carers and staff.  The CRP will provide support during the early feasibility stage, assist in obtaining Trust R&D approvals and other delegated tasks relating to research governance.

The core purpose of the role is to work with clinical teams to assist in identifying and recruiting participants for studies which have been adopted to the Mental Health Mission portfolio, one of which will be the COMBINER Study.

Your duties will involve supporting site file management, screening, recruitment and monitoring of trial patients, collection and documentation of accurate data and performing tests and assessments.  You will also be required to develop and utilise a working knowledge of and compliance with local, national and international research regulations

**A requirement to travel to other trusts across the Midlands is essential to this role**

## Job Details

### Other Requirements

**Essential**

- Willingness and ability to learn new skills as required for study portfolio e.g. phlebotomy and ECG
- Willingness and ability to travel as and when required

### Training & Qualifications

**Essential**

- Undergraduate degree in Psychology or equivalent theoretical knowledge
- Evidence of Good Clinical Practice for research training

**Desirable**

- Professional registration to appropriate body if a Nurse, Midwife, Clinical Scientist, Allied Health Professional, Health and Care Professionals Council, British Psychology Society, Registered Clinical Research Practitioner OR equivalent demonstrable experience

### Analytical and Judgement Skills

**Essential**

- Able to work autonomously, prioritise and manage own time and workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to work within and lead a team to deliver to objectives, targets and deadlines

### Knowledge and Nature of Experience

**Essential**

- At least 12 months clinical research delivery experience in an NHS or University Institution
- Experience of working with young people experiencing mental health difficulties
- Experience of delivering concurrent research studies with minimal supervision according to good clinical practice guidelines

**Desirable**

- Experience of conducting research in the mental health field

### Personal Skills/Abilities & Attributes

**Essential**

- Ability to deliver to targets and timelines
- Understanding of Trust Values and able to work to these at all times

### PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

**Essential**

- Ability to use variety of Trust and research IT programs such as EDGE, databases, ICE, PEPR
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
