Band 5 Scrub Staff Nurse within Trauma & Orthopaedics/Major Trauma theatre team. Providing excellent perioperative care across specialities and providing cover for both elective and emergency services. This post will be suitable for registered nurse/ODP willing to expand their knowledge and skills in perioperative practice in delivering high quality and safe patient care.

### Main duties of the job

Band 5 Scrub Staff Nurse – Trauma & Orthopaedics/Major Trauma

We are looking for enthusiastic staff to come and join our Trauma & Orthopaedics/Major Trauma theatre team at St Georges. We are interested in hearing from staff from diverse range of perioperative experience who are looking to develop their career in trauma and orthopaedics/major trauma perioperative service.. We are likewise equally happy to support and facilitate the training of the individuals who are keen to learn.

We have 34 operating theatres at St George's Hospital. Our staff work in teams and we are committed to keeping our focus on giving Outstanding Care, Every Time to our patients.

The main duties of this job role include:

- Setting, monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring that nursing procedures are carried out in accordance to Trust's polices
- As skills and competencies develop, taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the theatre area or on a regular basis.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff.
- Working to support trauma & orthopaedics/major trauma services on a 24/7 basis and night shift. Presently, this post do not require on-call commitment.

- Registered Nurse (general) or Operating Department Practitioner
- Post registration experience in theatres for 6 months

**Desirable**

- Relevant post registration experience in trauma & orthopaedics theatres for 6 months
