As a Staff Nurse on our Orthopaedic & Spinal Ward, you'll care for patients recovering from a wide range of planned and complex procedures, working alongside experienced consultants and a supportive multidisciplinary team. ### Main duties of the job

Joining our Orthopaedic & Spinal Ward means becoming part of a team that prides itself on delivering exceptional patient care while supporting one another to continually develop. We care for patients throughout their inpatient journey, from admission through to discharge, helping them recover safely following complex orthopaedic and spinal procedures. Working closely with physiotherapists, consultants, pain specialists and the wider multidisciplinary team, we focus on delivering evidence-based care that supports both recovery and rehabilitation. As a Staff Nurse, you'll manage your own clinical workload while also working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver safe, personalised care. Deliver high quality, evidence based nursing care to orthopaedic and spinal patients. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care. Monitor patients throughout their recovery and respond appropriately to changes in their condition. Recognise and respond effectively to deteriorating patients and clinical emergencies. Work collaboratively with consultants and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate holistic patient care. Administer medications safely in accordance with NMC guidelines. Support patients and families throughout their inpatient journey Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation. Supervise and support Healthcare Assistants, student nurses and junior colleagues. Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
