### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced aseptic services pharmacy technician to become involved with the preparation and delivery of safe and high quality Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy from Barnet Hospital Production Unit. The role will also involve assisting with implementation of new regulatory guidance as well as national agenda items that concern pharmacy aseptic services.

You must have aseptic manufacturing experience, be well-motivated, have good communication skills and work well in a team.  The post covers a wide range of duties as outlined in the Job summary section of the job description and you must participate in continuing professional development.

The post may involve cross-site working at the Royal Free Hampstead site and any other hospitals that joins our Group model. Full support is available and we fully encourage the training and development of all our staff.

### Main duties of the job

To manufacture, assemble, label, complete documentation, dispense and check pharmaceutical products in accordance with local policies and procedures and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GCP (Good Clinical Practice), COSHH, Health & Safety and any other Legislative directives in the Pharmacy Production Unit(s).

To ensure that the Production Unit is working safely within the agreed acceptable Physical and Microbiological monitoring parameters and document and report any deviations to the Team Leader, Production Manager or Operational Lead Pharmacist in timely manner before starting any work.

To undertake the regular Daily Clean of the Pharmaceutical Isolators and LFC and the Aseptic working areas as per relevant SOPs and document as such.

Issue out the starting materials used to manufacture products using the JAC Dispensing System

Be personally responsible for re-accreditation & re-validation programmes within the Unit and complete all the Trust Statutory and Mandatory training modules. Also undertake personal CPD regularly to comply with relevant scientific body registration requirements.

The post-holder may be expected to work cross-site between Barnet and Hampstead sites and in future any other NHS hospitals that joins the Group Model. If in future the services are rationalised to one site then the post holder will be expected to work from that base.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience in pharmacy production services with aseptic production for chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition (with or without Specials License) or equivalent gained from either hospital pharmacy or industrial pharmaceutical manufacturing units, where GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is enforced
- Experience of working in an aseptic environment with clean room gowning for lengthy periods
- Experience of multi -disciplinary team working

**Desirable**

- Experience of training, supervising, and developing of junior and rotational staff

- Principles and practice of Good Manufacturing Practice
- Principles and practice of auditing
- Infection Control knowledge
- Numeracy skills, able to calculate without using calculator.
- Demonstrated good manual dexterity to undertake fine and accurate aseptic manipulation work
