### Main duties of the job

The aim of this role is to provide high quality, effective Imaging services within adult and paediatric general X-Ray, Mobile/theatre work, A&E imaging and screening/fluoroscopy ie Core Services.  The post holder will work closely with Radiographers, Radiologists and staff of all grades in the provision of safe, prompt and effective imaging of in-patients and out-patients, observing local and national guidelines; always in accordance with the ionising radiations (medical exposure) regulations – IR(ME)R 2000.

The post holder will schedule work for the general department in conjunction with any additional tests/ward schedules that the patient is undergoing

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Knowledge in a range of Radiography arenas, including trauma radiography.
- Patient empathy – with the competence to adapt Radiographic technique in accordance to patient limitations.
- IT skills, with advanced levels of understanding of Microsoft office

**Desirable**

- PACS, RIS and CRS knowledge and experience.
- Presentation skills.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Full range of Radiographic Competencies in: General X-Ray, Mobile/theatre Radiography, barium/specials Radiography
- Evidence of working within a busy, acute setting

**Desirable**

- Audit experience (either in current department/University) with recommendations from the findings.

### Communication

**Essential**

- Ability to communicate to a high standard via, telephone, face to face and over email to colleagues, ward, A&E and theatre staff.
- Capable of dealing with challenging behaviors.
- To remain professional in all areas of communication.

### Specific requirements

**Essential**

- Requirement to work shift pattern and ‘out of hours’
- Requirement to be able to manage own workload out of hours
- Sufficient to perform the duties of the post with any aids and adaptations

### Qualifications and knowledge

**Essential**

- BSc (Hons) Radiography or DCR (R)
- HCPC registration

### Personal and people development

**Essential**

- Current, up to date knowledge of Radiography.
- Evidence through CPD file the ability to demonstrate an appreciation for innovations in Radiography/Radiographic technique and reflective practice
- Customer focused individual, inspiring the same in students and other Radiographers.
