### Job overview

The post holder will be involved in all aspects of care of patients in plaster and will apply and remove a wide range of plaster casts without direct supervision. Working as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, care will be given to outpatients and inpatients. To manage effectively and efficiently the patient caseload within the Plaster Room. To communicate effectively with other departments and disciplines. As a member of the clinic staff, the post holder will assist in the clinic activities when not specifically required in the plaster room. The post holder is expected to have a flexible approach in ensuring the work of the department is carried out to the required high standards and will contribute to the service improvement and maybe required to work to support other clinical work within the outpatient clinics. To be expected to practice autonomously within own scope of practice and exercise sound clinical judgement.

### Main duties of the job

To manage on a day to day running of the plaster room efficiently. To manage effectively and efficiently the patient caseload within the plaster room, informing waiting patients of the reason for delays. To minimize hazards in the working area and report any identified hazards to the appropriate departments and line manager. To adhere to all safe systems of work applicable to the work area. To undertake risk assessments and implement risk reducing measures. Reporting to the appropriate department and line manager any deficiencies in the arrangements for minimising risk. To contribute to the learning needs of staff within the department.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
