### Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your pharmacy career. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of pharmacy technicians who provide a range of pharmaceutical services in this busy acute hospital Trust.

In this progressive role, you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level in the hospital setting. As the successful candidate, you will first commence in the role at band 4, and then upon completion of an individualised development plan you will progress to your role as Clinical Pharmacy Technician, Band 5.

You need to be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC to apply, however applications from candidates due to qualify & register this year will be considered. Experience of hospital pharmacy is not essential as you will be well-supported in training and developing into this role.

### Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

With a patient-focused approach, you will;

* Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients;

* Deliver a high-quality ward-based medicines optimisation service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust;

* Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members;

* Support the inpatient pharmacy where required;

* Carry out accuracy checking commitments

Key Person Specification Requirements

* A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council;

* Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician with at least one year's post-qualification experience

* A nationally recognised accredited accuracy checking qualification.

* A professional attitude with the ability to motivate self and others

* The ability to remain calm under pressure

* A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service

* A strong attention to detail

* Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity is desirable

This post offers in-service development training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills in a clinical role. A requirement to participate in evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rotational basis will be necessary.
