We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our established team of nursery nurses on the postnatal ward. As a member of the multidisciplinary team and with the support of postnatal ward staff, you would provide individualised family centred care to babies requiring transitional care on the postnatal ward and support midwives, Transitional care nurses in delivering safe, effective, and family-centred care.  This would include assisting families to develop appropriate skills to become confident in caring for and feeding their babies before discharge home, via group and individual education sessions.

The maternity unit is currently working towards Baby Friendly Initiative re-accreditation and as such, you will be expected to incorporate the Baby Friendly standards in all aspects of your role.

Support and appropriate training will be provided.

### Education

**Essential**

- Level 3 Nursery Nursing/ Child Care Qualification NNEB or BTEC or equivalent.
- GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent

- Experience: Record keeping  Experience of working with children aged 0-5

- Basic numeracy
- Knowledge of BFI standards
