### Job summary

The primary function of this role is to support the Clinical Delivery Group (CDG) in delivering the

audit requirements and targets outlined in the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes

Programme (NCAPOP), National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines and other

national directives including the Specialised Service Quality Dashboard SSQD. A key responsibility

is to help secure enhanced Best Practice Tariffs (BPT).

To achieve this, the post-holder will be responsible for delivering national Burns and Plastics

audits in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all data collected is accurate, validated and

reported appropriately.

Clinical Audit is an educational activity designed to improve the quality of clinical care. Every

healthcare professional is expected to participate in the process. The post holder will be expected

to have experience in data collection and analysis, and have the appropriate skills to design,

develop, generate and maintain reports.

As directed by the Operations Manager and Clinical team the post-holder is required to work

independently, collect and co-ordinate data collection relating to the activities of the Burns Unit.

The post holder will manage and update the epidemiological database (BIBID) for the Regional

Burns Unit, making data available to internal and external enquiries in consultation with the Burns

Consultants.

The post holder will also promote and facilitate clinical audit with the unit, and project manage all

*Attend Burns MDT and Burns morning round.

*Deliver Burns and Plastics-related national clinical audits in line with national

requirements.

*Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.

*Validate and analyse data from multiple sources to inform clinical and operational decision-making within the CDG.

*Generate and maintain clear, accurate reports and dashboards as needed.

*Support the CDG in achieving audit-related targets and securing best practice tariffs.

*Participate in the continuous improvement of clinical care through audit and analysis, aligning with the educational nature of clinical audit.

*To co-ordinate and promote clinical audit within Burns Surgery, building up good working relationships with Managers, Audit Lead Clinician

and other Doctors.

*To be responsible for the collection of the BIBID forms, ensuring all data has been collated accurately. This data is then entered into the

National BIBID Database.

*To provide support to staff undertaking audits (planned and ad-hoc) in the form of general advice, pro-forma design, sample identification,

provision of case notes, data collection and analysis, report writing and preparation of Power point presentation.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- * Previous experience of NHS or public sector working.
- * Previous data analyst experience
- * Previous experience of clinical audit project or clinical information systems.
- * Previous experience of presenting complex data in a user-friendly format.
- * Thorough knowledge and experience of using various Microsoft Office Software programmes including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel including creation/manipulation of
- pivot tables/charts.
- * Understanding data - extracts, collates, quantitative and qualitative analyses and validates data, recognising alternative solutions where necessary.
- * Understand confidentiality and apply the principles in everyday working practice.

**Desirable**

- * Understanding of and familiarity of Oceano, Clinical Portal, Dendrite and PICs
- * Experience of using Trust IT systems
- * Awareness of current NHS issues

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- * Knowledge to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent plus additional knowledge of working with data or IT acquired through experience or completion of short courses to diploma level
- * Educated to 'A' level/NVQ3 or equivalent qualification.fregistra
- * GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English

**Desirable**

- * Clinical Audit qualification.
