### Job overview

The Pharmacy Service is comprehensive, and we have a full range of services including Inpatient and Outpatient dispensary service, ward-based clinical pharmacy, Medicines Information, aseptic and non-sterile production services. Specialist clinical pharmacists provide direct clinical input into medicines management in several clinical areas including HIV, general medicine, emergency services, surgery, rheumatology, anti-coagulation, oncology & haematology, women’s health, paediatrics and infection control.

The post holder will ensure that Production services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner ensuring that all procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines and undertake preparations in all areas of the Production unit.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Ability to deal directly with public & other health service professionals.

Ability to work in certain posture for prolonged period of time, e.g., sitting upright to prepare drugs in an isolator.

Effective organizational skills.

Ability to communicate complex, contentious and sensitive information.

Time management of self.

Able to respond to unpredictable work patterns.

Able to manage own workload.

Able to work accurately within the departmental SOP’s to maintain quality standards.

Able to prioritise workload effectively.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge and application of production related national and legal requirements e.g. principles of good manufacturing practice GMP/ Licensing Good Manufacturing Practice
- Computer literate Word, Excel

**Desirable**

- Working with JAC computer system
- Environmental monitoring in clean rooms

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- 4 GCSE’s Grade A-C to include English, Maths, Science NVQ level 2 Pharmacy services
- NVQ level 2 Pharmacy services

- Flexibility with regard to changes in work schedule
- Must do Late duty, Weekend duties and bank holidays as rostered
