### Job overview

Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system and correctly assemble prescriptions, ensuring each item is accurately dispensed and in the correct packaging, according to standard operating procedures (SOP). Organise the timely supply of out of stock medication to patients, prioritise and delegate to other pharmacy team members when necessary. Communicate any delays in supply to the appropriate person. Counsel patients on the use of their dispensed medications, offering advice and answering any queries. To provide information and advice to nursing and medical staff on all aspects of drug usage and availability. Receive deliveries from suppliers and manufacturers

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking candidate with experience in pharmacy to join the Royal Free London Pharmacy family. You will need to be organised and well-motivated and have excellent communication and people skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations. ### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Aptitudes

**Essential**

- Demonstrate ability to work independently or as a member of a team
- Ability to complete any required documentation correctly
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to meet set deadlines

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of drug names and terms

### Experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrate ability to dispense accurately
- Demonstrate ability to counsel and give advice to patients/carers on medication
- Experience/knowledge of the principles of stock control
- Computer literate including Microsoft software products

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in an NHS hospital environment
- Previous assessable experience/understanding of JAC Pharmacy computer system
- Previous experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- NVQ Level 2 Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
