### Job summary

Due to the expansion of our service, an opportunity has arisen to join the small, friendly administrative team of RRPPS's Approved Dosimetry Service.

RRPPS is the Radiation Protection Service of University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We provide the full range of medical physics and radiation protection services to UHBFT and external customers, including an HSE-approved Approved Dosimetry Service (ADS). The ADS provides monitoring "badges" to staff working with radiation; these are worn for a period then returned to be read and reported.

### Main duties of the job

Preparing dosemeters; issuing them to customers and receiving them back at the end of the monitoring period

Packaging and posting dosemeters in a timely fashion each month.

Receipting and processing large amounts of post daily.

Updating the bespoke ADS database; sending out dose reports; and dealing with customer queries via telephone and email

Using multiple office software for data input requiring attention to detail.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- *Experience working with the public and delivering high quality customer service.
- *Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- *Experience using IT systems for data entry and information retrieval.
- *Experience working in a busy, fast paced environment.
- *Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and information governance requirements.

**Desirable**

- *Experience working in an Approved Dosimetry Service or other radiation protection environment

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- *Good general education, including GCSE English and Maths (Grade A--C / 9--4).
- *NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent administrative experience.

**Desirable**

- *IT qualification such as ECDL.
- *RSA Level 3 typing or equivalent experience within administrative environment.
