We are looking to recruit 3 housekeepers to work the following hours:

- 1 housekeeper working 3 days out of 7 on a variety of morning and afternoon shift working 20 hours a week
- 1 housekeeper working 3 days out of the 7 on a variety of morning and afternoon shift working 18.75 hours a week
- 1 housekeeper working 2 days out of the 7 working afternoon only shifts on a 12 hour a week contract

The housekeeper will enhance the patient’s experience by ensuring that the clinical environment is presented and maintained in a way which maximises the patient’s sense of comfort, safety and well-being.

The successful candidates will have the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to communicate effectively to patients, staff and visitors.

### Main duties of the job

To ensure the environment is cleaned in line with national cleaning standards.

- Deliver meal/beverage service
- Cleaning Ward Kitchen/Meal area
- Following meal ordering procedures
- Report maintenance issues

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

## Person Specification

### Essential

**Essential**

- Good basic education (Ability to read and write and numerical skills)

**Desirable**

- Relevant experience of working within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Food Hygiene including temperature control and HACCP.
- Cleaning experience

### Qualifications

- Good basic education Ability to read and write and numerical skills

**Desirable**

- Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification
- NVQ Level 2 British Institute of Cleaning Science in Domestic Services or equivalent
- Food Standards Agency Food Allergy and Intolerance Certificate
