We are seeking an enthusiastic HCPC-registered, or soon to be registered, Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Trustwide Intensive Support Team for behaviours that challenge in dementia.

This post is fixed-term to provide maternity leave cover.

You will work with care homes to meet the needs of people with dementia using psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions.   We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about improving quality of life for people with dementia, their carers and families, and share a commitment to compassionate, person-centred practice.   This is a fantastic development opportunity for newly qualified Psychologists. We can offer you regular clinical and management supervision, continuing professional development (CPD), and links with the University of Surrey Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme. You will be supported by your colleagues in the Trust-wide Intensive Support Team, and by the wider Older Adults Psychology team that works across community and inpatient services. Both of these teams are committed to shared learning, service improvement and advocacy for older people.

Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community-based work.

### Main duties of the job

This post involves working with care homes across East Surrey (including Redhill, Reigate, Tandridge, Epsom, Mole Valley and Elmbridge).

You will deliver formulation-led, evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions based on Positive Behaviour Support and the Newcastle model for people with dementia with severe and complex needs.

You will undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans.

You will contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and provide consultation, supervision and training to CMHT colleagues delivering psychosocial assessments and interventions for people with dementia.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working with people from across the life span with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles
- Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapeutic models
- To practice within a Positive Behaviour Support and trauma informed care framework
- Is interested in and passionate about providing high quality psychological support to people using our service and their carers

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent
- HCPC registration
