### Job overview

Our Community Mental Health Neighbourhood Team in Runnymede and Spelthorne is looking for Assistant Occupational Therapist.

We are a secondary mental health team who provides assessments for evidence based, time limited treatment and psychological interventions for adults across the lifespan with severe and enduring mental health issues. The focus of our whole service is promoting recovery and independence and developing self-management strategies to encourage people to achieve their potential in the community.

Your role is to provide accessible, high-quality and evidence based occupational therapy interventions to individuals, carers and families.

Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Desirable**

- Experience working delivering occupational therapy interventions alongside an occupational therapist

### Experience and qualification

**Essential**

- Foundation Degree in Mental Health or related subject or psychology undergraduate qualification OR
- Level 3 qualification in a health-related area and experience of working in a health or care role (e.g. BTEC / NVQ Level 3 / Apprentice Level 3 in health related area such as health and social care, public services) OR
- Significant experience in a role delivering care in a mental health setting
- Driving license suitable for use in the United Kingdom and access to a car for work purposes.

**Desirable**

- Experience working/ delivering occupational therapy interventions alongside an occupational therapist
