### Job overview

Assisting the Data and Outcomes Analyst and Consultants within the PICU team with the maintenance of the unit and PICANet databases and developing a working knowledge of all the software packages used within the service. Maintenance of the databases via real time data collection. Assisting with the collation of statistical data for audit and research purposes, maintaining a high standard of data quality within the PICU & EMCHC service. Providing standard reports as required. A holistic view of data management across EMCHC including HDU will be required of this role.

- Collecting and uploading PICANet data in accordance with PICANet timely submission and data quality standards.
- Assisting in the co-ordination and development of robust data collection and validation mechanisms
- Ensuring the timely production of reports and analysis when required.
- Ensuring that all data is kept securely and to maintain the confidentiality of staff and patients at all times

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Maintain, input and update PICANet databases specific for the service.
- Ensure timely submission of quarterly reports or as required.
- Validate and upload data internally and externally as required, maintaining data integrity and security
- Coordinate PICANet data validation visits and support the coordination of other data validation visits as required.
- Maintain, input and update all local databases.
- Generate database reports for the team to maintain trust data flows.
- Collating and entering data to assist in research, audit and clinical governance projects, both local and nationally led.
- Producing reports from the database as requested to monitor capacity, treatment pathways and policy compliance.
- Monitoring data quality and compliance with quality assurance indicators
- Developing a working knowledge of all the software packages used within the EMCHC /PICU service, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- With the support of Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists’, monitoring the audit trail of patient information ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of using spread sheets/database/software packages, e.g. Microsoft Excel

### Training & Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE English Language & Maths Grade C (or equivalent)
- OCR III (including Excel and Access) or equivalent

**Desirable**

- GNVQ ICT (or equivalent)

### Analytical and Judgement skills

- Ability to use data for reporting and analysis
- High standard of data quality skills and demonstrating attention to detail
