### Job overview

The successful applicant will be expected to provide high quality patient-centred care to patients attending our adult audiology department. The bulk of the work will be adult rehabilitation and supporting ENT clinics. We are happy to accept newly graduated audiologists for this role, and a degree of in-house supervision will be provided if this is the case. The aim will be for the applicant to look towards specialisation as they become more experienced in the basics of adult audiology.

### Main duties of the job

On a day-to-day basis, we aid to provide clinicians a variety of clinics wherever possible. Most days, the successful applicants' duties will be split into a session of adult rehabilitation and a session of ENT support.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Adult rehabilitation including audiological counselling, hearing aid assessment, fitting, follow-up and repair clinics, supporting ENT clinics and providing further specialist audiological testing as required (i.e. speech testing, speech in noise testing, OAE etc. - in house training can be provided in these areas as necessary). The applicant should be aware they may be expected to work cross-site between our three clinics: University Hospital Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and Queen Marys Hospital in Sidcup.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

### Skills

**Desirable**

- Experience using GN Resound software/hearing aids
- Experience using Auditbase patient management system
- Able to conduct advanced audiology-testing; (OAE/speech testing/Speech in noise etc.)
- Completed Audiology Supervisors Course
- Experience in provision of training / supervision to junior staff members / students

### Experience

**Essential**

- Minimum 1 year placement in an audiology dept. as part of degree programme

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in an NHS Audiology Department outside of placement
- Experience of working in another NHS setting/dept.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- BSc Degree in Audiology / OR / BAAT exam Part 1 / 2 + relevant additional qualification (BT/CertHE etc)

**Desirable**

- MSc Degree in Audiology
