Join a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team dedicated to one mission: ensuring safe, reliable medical devices are always available to support high‑quality patient care across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a service known for its innovative approach and hands‑on clinical support.

You’ll play a key role in areas such as Trust‑wide resuscitation trolley equipment provision, Equipment Library operations, and technical support within weekly respiratory clinic settings. Regular weekend working is part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), servicing, inspection and repair on a range of non‑complex to moderately complex medical devices
- Perform routine fault‑finding, using appropriate diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve issues
- Support the safe condemnation and disposal of medical devices
- Conduct acceptance testing for new and loaned equipment before clinical use
- Assist with the rollout of newly accepted devices into clinical areas
- Contribute to Trust‑wide resuscitation equipment schemes to ensure readiness and compliance

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of maintenance and repairs of a comprehensive range of complex and moderately complex medical electrical/electronic/mechanical devices

**Desirable**

- Experience working within Healthcare Environment

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Level 4 qualification e.g. HNC/D in Electrical/Mechanical/Medical Engineering or equivalent. Candidates with the lower qualification would be taken on via Annex 21 in a training role to reach this minimum level

### Further Training

**Essential**

- Additional Knowledge achieved through attendance of manufacturer’s training courses for non-complex and moderately complex medical devices

### Knowledge Requirements

**Essential**

- Contribute to the Clinical Engineering services of MEMD including planned maintenance, repair, acceptance and condemnation
- Knowledge and Skills applied to medical equipment will include
- Acceptance testing
- PPM
- Electrical Safety Testing
- Electrical and Mechanical Tools
- Fault Finding
- Computer Technology
- Use of test Equipment
- Communication/interpersonal skills, commensurate with effective team working and liaison with clinical and professional colleagues
