Are you an experienced transformation leader ready to lead change at scale?

We are looking for an exceptional Associate Director of Transformation & Productivity to drive forward our ambitious transformation agenda at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a senior leadership role where you will work closely with the Executive Team and senior clinicians to deliver large-scale programmes that improve performance, productivity and patient outcomes. You will lead a complex portfolio of transformation initiatives, ensuring measurable and sustainable improvements across clinical and operational services.

As a visible and influential leader, you will operate at Board level, shaping strategic priorities, embedding continuous improvement, and building capability across the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on the quality of care we provide to our patients and community.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

- Lead a portfolio of transformation programmes across the full lifecycle, from initiation through to delivery and closure
- Provide expert programme and project management support to ensure delivery of the Trust’s Improvement Programme
- Establish and maintain robust governance, performance monitoring and reporting arrangements
- Work in partnership with executive directors, senior managers and clinicians to deliver agreed programme objectives
- Develop and deliver business cases, funding bids and benefit realisation plans
- Ensure patients and carers are central to service redesign and pathway improvements
- Manage risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution
- Line manage and support transformation staff and build improvement capability across the workforceDeputise for the Director of Transformation & Productivity as required

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience of leading the delivery of large-scale improvements in quality, cost improvement and organisational capability in a complex, multi-organisational context
- Increased the improvement capabilities of a complex workforce
- Worked successfully on clinical improvements with senior clinicians
- Worked successfully with leaders on the development and delivery of service reconfigurations
- Led the delivery of business change and clinical service
- Trained senior clinicians and managers in improvement and programme/ project management skills
- Participation in the annual planning process within a provider organisation
- Developed benchmarking analyses, market analyses, large scale demand and capacity modelling
- Adept at delivering results in different organisational cultures, with the ability to adapt leadership and programme delivery styles accordingly
- Specialist knowledge of: Programme management, Project management, Service and quality improvement (e.g. lean), Staff Management, Cost improvement and working with PMOs, Business intelligence, Operational management
- Skilled in formulating long term strategic improvement plans, that will have major impacts on trust performance and compliance.
- Skilled in developing policies and supporting strategy development
- Skilled in management of risks across multiple organisations
- Specialist knowledge of national, strategic policies for chosen portfolio.
- Skilled in nurturing and supporting staff at all levels.

**Desirable**

- Experience delivering strategic projects across organisational boundaries
- Delivered transformational results by working across silos, using expert knowledge of systems thinking
- Specialist knowledge of other improvement methodologies

### Qualifications

- Master’s degree or equivalent experience

**Desirable**

- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Formal management or leadership development or qualification
