The Associate Director of Commercial Procurement and Contracts will be part of the senior management team within the Commercial Procurement Services Function, leading on behalf of the Director of Commercial Procurement Services with key commercial procurement and contracts deliverables across all teams within the Commercial Procurement Services team, as well as supporting and leading key operational and strategic procurement and contract/supplier management initiatives across North East London (NEL).

This is a key senior strategic delivery role for BHURT and the North-East London (NEL) Integrated Care Board (ICB) Procurement Collaborative and will support the Director of Commercial Procurement Services to lead with the strategic implementation of the BHRUT vision and strategy for Commercial Procurement, as approved by the Trust Board, with a specific focus on continuous development, improvement and transformation across the entire spectrum of procurement and contracts related objectives.

This role will also be integral to supporting the Trust towards delivering a Best in Class Commercial Procurement Service for BHRUT and Integrated Collaboration across North East London (NEL). To achieve this, the role will be central to managing and maintaining strategic senior relationships with internal and external stakeholders across Clinical and Non-Clinical divisions.

### Main duties of the job

This role is a demanding, high profile strategic and influential role that will lead and develop the day-to-day operation of a best-in-class Commercial Procurement Services team in accordance with the Trust’s values, aims and objectives.

The post holder will operate as a member of the Director of Commercial Procurement’s senior management team, leading on strategic and commercial delivery across the Trust and leading strategic delivery across NEL ICS Procurement Collaborative projects and programmes.

This role will require being embedded within the service whilst working collaboratively with key teams and senior stakeholders within Clinical and Corporate divisions and with key members of the Commercial Procurement Services team to manage and address key issues, leading and supporting key deliverables in a matrix structure, as requirements dictate and as directed by the Director of Commercial Procurement Services.

The post holder will lead this service to provide professional and technical procurement advice and guidance on complex procurement and contracting requirements. The aim is to balance the requirements of controlled contract spend, income alignment and seek to increase commercial opportunities.

Although this position is a 9 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks.
