We have an exciting opportunity to welcome an Assistant Psychologist to our team. You should have a clear passion for working with adults with acquired neurological conditions.

The Psychology Service within the Community Neuro Rehab Team provides specialist psychological intervention to patients with acquired neurological conditions from across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. You will join a growing service and work in a supportive and cohesive multidisciplinary team, to support and enhance the delivery of high quality psychological healthcare.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reflective and creative Assistant Psychologist who has experience of working with adults.

### Main duties of the job

This Assistant Psychologist role involves supporting and enhancing the clinical psychology input within the Community Neuro Rehab Team.

The post holder will have opportunity to contribute to: direct clinical work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. This will include psychological assessment and intervention, individual and group interventions with patients and their carers, analysis and reporting on outcome measurement data, patient engagement activities, production of clinical/teaching/training materials and audit and service evaluation projects.

- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.

### Experience

- Experience of working with adults with neurological conditions.
- Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties and/or disabilities.

### Knowledge and Skills

**Essential**

- A sound knowledge of neuro psychology
- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people coping with adverse life events and high levels of emotional upheaval.
- An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a physical health context.
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers and colleagues in a way that addresses psychological resistance

### Training and qualifications

**Essential**

- Accredited honours degree in psychology
- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
- Evidence of post-graduate professional development, for example, through supervised clinical practice and/or short, specialist training courses relevant to professional psychology practice, children’s psychological wellbeing, research design/analysis
