The role involves jointly holding a caseload of young people, contributing to assessment, formulation, intervention, risk management and care planning, alongside wider service development and operational tasks. The role requires the ability to build therapeutic relationships with young people who may experience difficulties with engagement, trust in services, or emotional regulation. The post holder will work closely with carers, schools and wider professional networks to support continuity of care and coordinated intervention. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities The duties of the post holder will include: - Delivering psychological interventions to young people and carers under supervision. - Contributing to assessment, formulation, risk management and care planning. - Liaising with schools, social care and other agencies involved in young people’s care. - Supporting psychology provision within MDT discussions and formulation meetings. - Contributing to audit, service evaluation, and service development initiatives. - Contributing to the psychology discipline within the wider service, including attending appropriate meetings. - Supporting administrative and operational tasks that facilitate timely access to care and continuity of support. Understanding of psychological formulation and its application within clinical practice. Understanding of risk assessment and risk management in child and adolescent mental health settings. Understanding of child and adolescent development and factors influencing emotional wellbeing. Knowledge of safeguarding principles and multi-agency working.
