In recent years there has been significant investment in community mental teams to strengthen provision across all our boroughs.

ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGIST

### Main duties of the job

This role is a five day per week role based within our Tier 3 Team. The role is split between the ADHD and Transition pathways.  The ADHD pathway takes a broad view to all aspects of care and liaison with families and the network to enable provision of holistic care. The transition role the focus is on preparing young people for the transition to adult services. Both roles may provide opportunity for group and individual work. There will be lots of opportunities for observing and working alongside qualified clinicians. Excellent organisation and communication skills will be required. Tasks will evolve with continued service development. We welcome staff with new ideas and support innovation.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients in the Community CAMHS Directorate across all sectors of care,

Provide psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist,

Work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures,

Assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection and analysis of data, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities

**Desirable**

- Experience of paid work in direct care provision
- Experience of using microcomputers for databases or data analysis, especially SPSS for Windows

### Training & Qualifications

**Essential**

- An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology
- Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

**Desirable**

- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis
