If so come and visit us in Doncaster where a  12-month fixed term vacancy  has arisen for an enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to  join our  friendly team of Mammographers working within the Doncaster & Bassetlaw Breast Screening Service

### Main duties of the job

To undertake routine specified radiographic examinations as per achieved competency under the supervision of a senior radiographer and to assist in the delivery of a high quality and accurate service

To act as an operator under the Trusts IR(ME)R 2017 procedures and undertake imaging examinations and procedures as per the departments technique protocols.

To perform routine mammograms at Breast Screening Clinics to a high standard of technique under the supervision of a senior Radiographer.

To operate the National Breast Screening System (NBSS) and Zillion (the radiology information system).

To utilise a high level of dexterity, necessary for the positioning and manipulation of patients and imaging equipment.

To participate in clinical audit and surveys relevant to the role.

To assist, when required, at breast screening assessment clinics and symptomatic “one-stop” clinics which support the two week cancer wait targets, or other NHS initiatives.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Experience operating Trust computer systems
- Experience in a Mammography Department
- Experience in the NHSBSP

### Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- AP Certificate of Competence in Mammography
- GCSE English Language & Maths (Grade C or above) or their equivalent or NVQ Level 2
- Computer literate
- At least 1 years’ experience in a healthcare setting in the NHS
