Band 3 Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT Team 1- ENT, Max Fax & Plastic Surgery  - Townlands/Royal Berkshire Hospital)

This post is a split role across Townlands Memorial Hospital, Henley-on-Thames and Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (APPC) to join our Clinical Administration Team in the Ophthalmology Department.

We are looking for a candidate who can provide support to clinical and non-clinical staff.

You will be a point of contact for administrative issues relating to patients' pathway of care, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.

Date of Interviews: Tuesday 23rd June 2026 between 11:00 to 13:00 at Townlands Memorial Hospital, Level 2, Henley-on-Thames.

You will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

You will provide a consistent approach across the Trust, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales.

The CAT 1 team is committed to providing our colleagues with a positive experience assisting them to build fulfilling and rewarding careers.

This is an exciting time to join the ENT, Max Fax and Plastic Surgery Department as we move towards more digital ways of working, including virtual clinics and assessment.

## Person Specification

### Previous Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of using of IT systems and patient data systems
- Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
- Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment team

### Education/Qualifications

**Essential**

- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
- GCSE or equivalent
