### Job overview

As Assistant Finance Director – Group Accounts, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering the Group's financial accounting function. Supporting the Deputy Finance Director – Financial Services & Capital, you will lead the timely and accurate production of consolidated accounts across the Group, ensuring the highest standards of financial governance, compliance and reporting.

Working closely with senior leaders across the Trust and wider healthcare system, you will provide expert financial leadership, influence strategic decision making and help shape the future direction of financial services across the Group. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to make a significant organisational impact while leading and developing teams within a supportive, ambitious and continually evolving finance function.

### Main duties of the job

Key areas of responsibility include:
- Monthly consolidated accounts for the Group
- Year-end accounts production for the Trust and the consolidated Group
- Leadership of the external year end audit
- Cash flow monitoring and forecasting
- Treasury and cashiers' management
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Financial controls including balance sheet reconciliations

**Essential**

- Able to make decisions when guided by broad principles and departmental policies.
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical, numerical, and investigative skills. Able to analyse, reconcile and interpret complex financial data and resolve queries and anomalies

### Experience & Knowledge

**Essential**

- Evidence of working in Financial services in complex organisations
- Demonstrable experience of accounting under IFRS and other technical regimes
- Significant technical accounting or external audit experience, including consolidation
- Evidence of continuing professional development / commitment to on going personal development
- A demonstrable advanced level of understanding of Microsoft Excel

**Desirable**

- Knowledge and expertise of accounting under the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) Group Accounting Manual (GAM)

### Communications and interpersonal skills

**Essential**

- Evidence of preparing and leading presentations on financial issues for all trust staff

### Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements
