The Joint Research Office (JRO) is responsible for managing a large, internationally recognised portfolio of research activity.

An exciting opportunity has risen within the R&D finance team to join as an Assistant Cost and Management Accountant to provide a comprehensive financial management support to the Research & Development Directorate.

### Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated, committed and reliable individual with experience of working within a Finance department. You will be:

- Technically competent
- Have great attention to detail abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Accounting packages – Oracle
- Microsoft skills such as – Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders including clinicians.
- First degree or studying towards CCAB/CIMA/ ACCA professional Accountancy qualification.

- Studying towards a CCAB/CIMA Professional Accountancy qualification or qualified by experience.
- Knowledge of financial process & Practices gained through practical experience
- Computer literacy in packages such as Excel and Word. Expected to design and create reports using spreadsheets and databases.
- Possess numeracy & literacy skills - up to ‘A level or equivalent.
