## Job Content

### Job overview

Three Partner Trusts have created a single procurement function to help support the sustainable provision of both clinical and non clinical services. The Humber & North Yorkshire Procurement Collaborative, hosted by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, provides procurement and supply chain services.

We are looking for curious, reliable people who want more than just a job and enjoy working with people. Many of our best colleagues did not start a career as buyers, and you do not need to either. We will teach you the skills, support your learning and help you grow, just as we have done for many others. What matters most is how you communicate, how you build relationships and your willingness to learn and develop. In this role, you help make sure frontline NHS teams have what they need to care for patients safely and effectively, and you will see the difference your work makes. Whether you are starting out, returning to work or changing direction, real progression is possible here. Hybrid working is available, after probation.

This role is based in either York or Scarborough, places with strong communities, proud histories and positive futures.

### Main duties of the job

Assistant Buyers are credible procurement professionals providing advice & guidance to clinical & corporate colleagues. You will encourage collaboration to maximise procurement and commercial outcomes for the patients in our care, ensuring consistency, transparency and value for money in all purchasing activity, ensuring frontline NHS teams have what they need for patient care.

You will support delivery and reporting of financial savings to agreed targets & organisational priorities. Working independently within agreed policy and procedures, you will undertake varied activities, using judgement to escalate concerns and contributing positively to service improvement.

You will champion the Procurement Collaborative as a progressive, responsive and innovative function, providing new thinking and positively influencing perceptions of the value delivered by effective & efficient procurement services.

This role supports the procurement of major medical equipment (MERG).

During the application and interview process, applicants are expected to demonstrate how their knowledge, skills, ambitions and behaviours could support good quality patient care, financial balance, and effective working across teams & organisations.

We respectfully ask applicants to ensure their application reflects their own experiences and words, rather than relying on automated tools to generate responses. Please take time to reflect on how you might personally support us in delivering our objectives and values.
