The ASK team is highly valued across the Trust and plays an important role in improving the treatment, escalation, and care of AKI and Sepsis patients. The post holder will works clinically as part of the Acute Sepsis and Kidney Injury (ASK) Team, providing specialist assessment, review, and management of patients with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)  across the Trust. The role includes proactive daily review of AKI patients using the electronic patient record and AKI alert system, ensuring early recognition, timely escalation, and delivery of evidence‑based care in line with NICE guidance and Trust policies. The post holder supports optimisation of treatment, monitoring of progress, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to prevent deterioration and improve outcomes. The post holder acts as a clinical expert and resource for ward and front‑door teams, providing advice, education, and support to embed best practice, reduce variation in care, and promote safe discharge. The role contributes to audit, quality improvement, and ongoing development of AKI and sepsis pathways, supporting a consistent seven‑day service and high‑quality patient care.
