Working Full-time: 37.5 hours/week over 4 long days (to include a Friday)

We are looking for a full-time Apprentice Assistant Audiologist to join our Audiology team. The Audiology Service is based at The Countess of Chester Hospital and is delivered by a multi-skilled team of Scientists, Audiologists, Assistant Audiologists and Administrators.

The successful candidate will be paid initially on the UK apprenticeship salary framework whilst undertaking a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant qualification and on-the-job training. Following successful completion of this training period and an End Point Assessment, the successful candidate will move into a permanent Band 3 Assistant Audiologist position within the Department. It is envisaged the training period will take no more than 18 months.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of the Audiology service by supporting the service with:

- Assisting in children's hearing assessment clinics and adult balance clinics as the second tester under direct supervision from a senior clinician.
- Completing routine and daily checks on clinical rooms and equipment prior to clinical sessions.
- Perform repairs and routine maintenance of hearing aids and ear moulds.
- Assist with the postal battery service including daily battery issues and postal repairs of hearing aids.
- Stock management and general administrative/clerical tasks supporting self, and others, in their clinical role within the paediatric and wider Audiology team
