Oxford University Hospitals NHS FT are looking for an Anticoagulation Administrator to join their team. The successful post holder will be responsible for the provision of administrative duties within the Thrombosis Service, based in their Oxford Centre.

The Oxfordshire anticoagulation and DVT service operates across two sites; the Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre at the Nuffield Orthopaedic site, and the pathology department at the Horton site. The service is responsible for the management of patients in Oxfordshire taking anticoagulation medication and comprises education clinics, point of care clinics, and remote telephone and software assisted dose titration. With a caseload of often long term patients the thrombosis team get to know the patients well and enjoy interacting with them on the phone and in person on an outpatient basis.

This post demands a high degree of knowledge and accuracy in administrative procedures as well as excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products and bespoke anticoagulation management programmes (although bespoke packages can be taught).

### Main duties of the job

DVT & Thrombosis Main Responsibilities:

- To administrate the Oxfordshire Anticoagulation service at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
- To communicate dosing information and changes for patients on vitamin K antagonist medication to patients and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
- To staff the incoming telephone helpline associated with the Oxfordshire anticoagulation service. To provide advice and assistance to anticoagulation patients, deal with queries and triage calls, forwarding them to the most appropriate member of staff who will deal with them

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Assessment Criteria

**Essential**

- Good general level of education (5 GCSEs inc English or equivalent), or equivalent working experience
- IT Literate
- Confident speaking to professionals and others on the telephone
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be able to prioritise

**Desirable**

- Experience of data entry
- Previous experience within the NHS/public sector. Digital transcription experience. Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Use of healthcare systems, such as EPR, LIMS etc
- Understanding and knowledge of the Trusts values
