### Job overview

12-month secondment

The post holder will be an experienced midwife and visible, accessible clinical leader responsible for the operational, clinical, and professional leadership of Antenatal Services at Hillingdon Hospital.

They will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, personalised, and evidence‑based antenatal care, working collaboratively with obstetric, radiology, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role will provide leadership across service delivery, workforce management, and quality improvement, ensuring compliance with national standards, Trust priorities, and local population needs.

The post holder will act as an expert practitioner and role model, leading service development, supporting staff, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, inclusion, and psychological safety.

### Main duties of the job

Main Responsibilities

- Provide overall leadership, management, and coordination of Antenatal Services to ensure delivery of safe, effective, and high‑quality care.
- Ensure services are responsive to the needs of women and families across Hillingdon, supporting personalised and equitable care.
- Be accountable for the safe and effective use of resources, including staffing, clinic capacity, and equipment.
- Lead on service improvement, quality assurance, and transformation aligned to Trust priorities and national maternity agendas.
- Act as a visible role model, promoting a positive culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

**Essential**

- Educated to degree level or relevant experience
- Mentorship or teaching accreditation: ENB 997 or equivalent, SSSA supervisor and assessor

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, and patient safety frameworks
- Experience in leading audits, research activity, or quality improvement projects
