About the Role: ### Main duties of the job The post holder is responsible for the effective line management of staff within the area of responsibility and has clinical responsibility for the safe and effective care delivery within their Ward Area. The post holder will be responsible for safe and effective day to day operational management and clinical leadership of the midwifery services, within the area. Will be expected to lead a team, team build, organise others in their actions and set priorities, objectives and goals within their sphere of responsibility. Will be expected to performance manage both the activity and members of the team. To maintain a high quality, working environment in which staff can maximise their potential and further develop their skills in clinical practice. The maternity unit environment is both unpredictable and challenging.
