Closing date: 21/09/2026 ### Main duties of the job The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an experienced registered nurse with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients. In conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical speciality. The post holder will develop new areas of practice, with nursing and consultant staff ensuring quality standards are met. The post holder will work closely with the interdisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that high quality patient care is maintained The postholder will practice independently as a Nurse Colposcopist, accredited with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP). The postholder will lead and deliver an expert nursing service within the Colposcopy and Rapid Access Hysteroscopy Department (RAC). ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Ensure patient experience is prioritised. Ensure a safe, effective and efficient service. Manage a team of nurses of all grades and ensure the team feel supported and valued. Manage own case load of Colposcopy patients as a BSCCP accredited nurse Colposcopist in diagnostics and treatments. Undertake hysteroscopy training when established in role. Maintain and supervise failsafe processes. Engage with governance teams and proactively manage incidents, risks, service improvements. Monitor service Key Performance Indicators and performance against national standards. Engage with patient experience and feedback ensuring the patient is always the primary consideration. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
