This is a part-time position, with working hours to be agreed.  Please note the applicant will need to commit to consistent hours.

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes:   Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, Counsellors, Technical Instructors, Administrative staff and Rehabilitation Engineers.

### Main duties of the job

The role involves supporting rehabilitation across all services, including:

- Delivering group sessions and one-to-one rehabilitation
- Assisting in clinic settings and home visits
- Working collaboratively within the team while also demonstrating initiative and independence

The role also includes a range of non-clinical duties, such as:

- Stock monitoring and equipment ordering
- Equipment maintenance
- Supporting audits
- General administrative and IT-based tasks

We are looking for someone who:

- Is motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Has strong organisational and communication skills
- Is confident in using IT systems
- Has an interest in rehabilitation and supporting people with physical disabilities

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Able to maintain own caseload of patients with complex conditions, as delegated by the occupational therapist and/or physiotherapist and to prioritise appropriately in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to treat patients within prescribed clinical protocols/programmes with minimum or no immediate supervision
- Ability to progress (and/or make minor adjustments to) prescribed treatment plans, when appropriate, by using own clinical judgement and knowledge within agreed parameters
- Ability to assess and prescribe simple aids and equipment for personal and domestic activities of daily living
- Ability to plan and lead group patient treatment
- Organic written communication evident from application

**Desirable**

- Skills of applying and using Early Walking Aids

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of assessing patients requiring walking/ other aids and instruct them in their proper and safe usage
- Experience of working as a band 3 or band 4 within therapies in the NHS

**Desirable**

- Experience of working with amputees in a rehabilitation setting
- Experience working within vascular surgery, orthopaedics or plastic surgery department or other rehabilitation setting
- Experience completing outcome measures

### Knowledge/Qualifications

**Essential**

- Demonstrates knowledge of health care delivery
- Knowledge about the role of the physiotherapist and the occupational therapist
- Knowledge of the proper and safe use of wheelchairs
- Established and significant experience in a therapy unit/department working with inpatient and outpatient populations
- Completed Health & Social Care NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

**Desirable**

- Proficient in use of health clinical systems and prior use of EPIC
- Knowledge of amputee rehabilitation
- Experience working with vascular, orthopaedic or amputee patients
