### Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Advanced Support Worker in our specialist Radiopharmacy team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their knowledge and experience within a highly specialised environment.

You will play an important role in the preparation and quality assurance of a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, working as part of a skilled and dedicated team.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and committed to delivering high-quality work in a specialist environment.

You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately while following established procedures.

You will also have the confidence to support and supervise colleagues, alongside the willingness to continue developing your own knowledge and skills.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and will take on additional responsibilities for supporting and supervising colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
- Supervising and supporting less experienced staff involved in radiopharmaceutical preparation.
- Performing in-process checks on the work undertaken by other team members.
- Undertaking quality control testing of finished radiopharmaceutical products.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance throughout all aspects of your work.
- Supporting the Senior Radiopharmacy team with the development and improvement of services.
- Contributing to the development of the service in line with NHS & commercial requirements including organisational objectives.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Radiopharmacy and healthcare teams.
- Ensuring accurate completion of documentation and records in accordance with relevant procedures and regulatory requirements.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Qualifications, knowledge and experience

**Essential**

- Numerate and literate e.g., GCSE in Maths and English Grade 5-9 or equivalent
- HNC (or equivalent experience) in a science-based subject OR 2 A level passes in a science subject OR BTEC level 3 in a science subject OR equivalent knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical procedures gained through work experience and training
- Significant experience of pharmacy
- Significant supervisory experience

**Desirable**

- Experience of using JAC computer systems
- Experience of rota management
- Experience of data management
- NVQ2 pharmacy services Or NVQ2 equivalent in pharmacy services (or currently working towards)
