An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an innovative and inspirational advanced clinical pharmacist to join our team at Prince Philip Hospital.

Prince Philip Hospital is a District General Hospital with around 230 beds. The pharmacy department employs approximately 45 staff. It provides a range of medical specialities, including an acute coronary care unit, respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, acute stroke , rehabilitation, elective surgery and orthopaedics, as well as a busy medical admission unit. It also provides a wide range of outpatient services including specialties such as oncology, dermatology and rheumatology.

You must hold a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have completed a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience or qualifications.

You will be expected to undertake Emergency Duty Commitment (on-call), work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota.

The post is full-time.

### Main duties of the job

As an advanced Pharmacist you will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of a patient focused clinical pharmacy service.

The successful candidate will work within medicine to develop the Pharmacist role e.g. working with the multidisciplinary team including attending consultant ward rounds, monitoring financial expenditure, undertaking service improvement projects and developing your role in pharmacist led clinics as an IP. The successful candidate will also provide dispensary cover.

You will be part of our friendly and passionate pharmacy team and contribute to the implementation of medicines optimisation, striving for excellence. You will provide a specialist and professional service to enable us to meet high standards of patient care and safety.

The post requires a highly motivated pharmacist with excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. You will demonstrate excellent decision making skills and problem solving skills. You will be supported to develop non–medical prescribing, advanced level clinical skills and leadership and management skills if needed.

- Masters degree in Pharmacy
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate MSc or Diploma in area of practice or equivalent experience or qualifications

- Accredited supervisor for foundation or post foundation Pharmacists
- Independent Prescriber
- Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing of Medicines (Leeds University) or equivalent if role includes aseptics
- Registered as QC if role includes aseptics
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
