We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support and co -lead a team in the clinical area of Medicine. This is a secondment or fixed term role to cover a maternity leave.

You will manage your own and support others with a complex caseload in an Inpatient setting.

The role involves close working with the MDT as well as divisional Senior Leaders. There will also be close working with senior leadership in Occupational Therapy with the opportunity to deliver the OT strategy and vision.

The Occupational Therapy department offers opportunities to take part in a research symposium and opportunities for innovation in an ever changing environment.

There are ample leadership development opportunities. You will supervise and appraise members of the team and support the development of junior staff.

### Main duties of the job

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with highly developed clinical skills in this field of practice. You will have a lead role in initiating, planning, implementing and leading the service developments in the Medical Occupational Therapy Team on a day-to-day basis.

You will provide occupational therapy to patients working autonomously and without direct supervision. You will ensure safe and effective delivery of occupational therapy and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and agency teams and the Professional Lead and Operational Manager in Occupational Therapy. You will also work closely with the Divisions to reduce length of stay and readmission rates.
