A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and self-motivated Band 7 Physiotherapist with a special interest in upper limb conditions to join the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy service based at Kingsgate House in the centre of Stockport.

The service is a busy and forward thinking provider of Adult Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy across multiple clinic sites in Stockport, receiving referrals for acute and chronic conditions from GPs, ESPs and Pain clinic. We have strong links with the acute Trust site and the Orthopaedic Assessment Service

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person who has experience in treating a wide variety of Musculoskeletal Conditions within a diverse population and is able to promote self-management and act as an expert in their field providing support to other members of the team.

### Main duties of the job

As an integral member of the team you will be involved in pathway work within your specialist area, and implement appropriate clinical guidelines and patient pathways.

You will be responsible for the provision of an advanced specialist Physiotherapy service for patients referred with upper limb conditions and for performing advanced assessments of patients with musculo-skeletal conditions, providing an accurate diagnosis and managing a defined caseload of patients with highly complex needs, using evidence based /patient centred principles in a variety of locations, maintaining associated records.

You will provide clinical and managerial leadership in your specialist area through clinical supervision, in service training and mentoring, supporting the team promote an efficient and effective service.

As part of your role you will commit to supervise, educate and assess the performance of students to a graduate standard and work with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Advanced knowledge of a wide range of physiotherapy management of chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions.
- Widespread knowledge of differential diagnoses, including neurological, circulatory and respiratory conditions.
- Knowledge of the working of community and hospital-based Physiotherapy services.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of recent NHS and Trust developments and their impact on the service.
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance, Audit and evidence based practice

### Experience

**Essential**

- Clinical experience as a Band 6 with specialist knowledge of Musculoskeletal conditions
- Experience dealing with GP referrals
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working
- Experience of student education within the workplace up to graduate level.

**Desirable**

- Experience of working within a Community environment
- Experience of managing change
- Experience of organizing and implementing training programs for staff.
- Experience of effective team working across settings

### Skills and Abilities

- Ability to demonstrate competence in working as sole practitioner
- Advanced clinical reasoning, able to assess, diagnose, evaluate and monitor effective treatment programme

### Education & Qualifications

**Essential**

- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council
- Membership of CSP

- Management and leadership skills training accreditation
- Evidence of CPD postgraduate learning related to MSK conditions
- Clinical Educators Course
- Masters in related speciality

### Work Related Circumstances
