This unit provides local and regional care for medical and surgical gastroenterology patients. The post involves inpatient ward work, outpatient clinics and group sessions such as FODMAP. There is a high level of nutrition support  involved in this post, both enteral and parenteral. Cross cover for critical care during periods of leave may be required. On our Brighton Site we provide regional services for cancer, renal, head & neck, stroke, trauma, gastro, paediatrics, HIV, cardiac and much more. We're a large, very friendly team and would be really keen to hear from you if you have a good range of acute experience. You will work very closely with the whole MDT in this very specialised post. Substantial experience in all aspects of nutrition support is essential including enteral tube feeding. You will play a lead role in the nutritional management of this patient group and will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals. You will provide a lead on relevant clinics and/or group sessions e.g. FODMAP or Coeliac. In addition you will actively be involved in the trust’s clinical governance programme and quality framework agenda by taking lead responsibility for ensuring continuing professional development, audit and research activities within this specialist area. You will be responsible for close working with all members of the Nutrition Support Team and other Advanced Gastrointestinal Dietitians.
